Recurring Plumbing Issues in Your Workplace ?
No one else could find a solution for them and it was costing them a fortune!
In the recent months, Endeavour Consulting have attended several schools across Auckland whose plumbing needed specialist attention.
On the face of it, the symptoms were the same: blocked and slow to drain toilets, backed up sinks.
The schools were stressed and exasperated because in some cases, plumbers had been called to attend the issue 10 times but had only cleared the blockage and not found the long-term solution. The school has H&S obligations to their students and staff, but they weren’t receiving the outcomes they needed to achieve functional sanitary plumbing.
That’s where Endeavour Consulting comes in.
We took the time to investigate the challenge completely through a process of elimination, and before pulling out any tools or breaking any dirt, we figured out exactly where the issues were.
Along the way we provided site visit reporting which we used to then put forward a proposal for a solution and a scope of works that could be used by a contractor to price the project.
We then worked to obtain quotes from the right providers to fix the problem. We do this without bias, because we are paid for our consulting time, and do not have a vested interest in the tradesperson's work.
In the end, although the symptoms were similar, the solutions were totally different:
One school had undertaken several renovations over a period of time and although some of the buildings appeared modern, the infrastructure outside of the building was old and outdated (we see this a lot). The drainage was badly displaced and there were issues with inadequate fall. Their pipework needed to be replaced. The pipework needed to be dug up, but the section of pipework was short and over a paved surface which we coordinated to be done through the school holidays in order cause minimal disruption to the school.
The other had old earthenware pipes that were experiencing root intrusion from magnolia trees in raised planters nearby. However, once the pipework had been hydro jetted, it was evident the structural integrity of the pipework was sound and had adequate fall. For this project we put forward a solution for Cured In Place pipe relining which uses a composite resin material that is pulled through the existing pipe and blown up to cure forming a new seamless pipe lining.
Through our network of specialist tradespeople, we were able to coordinate the pipe relining without having to disrupt the ground by digging, saving the school time, money, and hassle without disturbing their existing playground and hard surfaces. The trees were also removed and replaced with smaller trees that have shallow roots.
So, at Endeavour, while we produce top-notch hydraulic designs, we also provide pragmatic design solutions to existing plumbing and hydraulic services pipework with the goal of solving your requirements with the least disruption to your premises and your budget as possible.
